2 Timothy 1 (BLPT)
1 Esta carta é escrita por Paulo, apóstolo de Cristo Jesus e escolhido por Deus, enviado para falar sobre a promessa da vida real, que está em Cristo Jesus. 2 Eu estou enviando essa carta para você, Timóteo, meu querido filho. Que a graça, a misericórdia e a paz de Deus, o Pai, e de Cristo Jesus, nosso Senhor, estejam com você! 3 Eu sempre penso em você e sou muito grato a Deus, a quem eu sirvo como os meus antepassados fizeram, com a consciência limpa. Eu nunca me esqueço de mencionar você, Timóteo, em minhas orações. 4 Lembro-me de como você chorou, e isso faz com que eu queira muito vê-lo! Isso me deixaria realmente feliz. 5 Eu não me esqueço de sua fé sincera em Deus, a mesma fé que a sua avó, Loide, e a sua mãe, Eunice, também tinham. E eu sei que é a mesma fé que você tem. 6 É por isso que eu quero lembrá-lo de manter vivo o dom que Deus lhe deu e que você recebeu quando eu coloquei as minhas mãos sobre a sua cabeça. 7 Deus não nos deu um espírito que nos tornasse medrosos e, sim, um espírito de poder, de amor e de bom senso. 8 Então, não se envergonhe de dizer aos outros a respeito do nosso Senhor e também não tenha vergonha de mim. Pelo contrário, esteja pronto para participar comigo dos sofrimentos, por anunciar o evangelho, pois Deus lhe deu força para isso. 9 Ele é aquele que nos salvou e nos chamou para viver uma vida santa; não por causa do que fazemos, mas pelo próprio plano de Deus e por sua graça. 10 Ele nos deu essa graça, por meio de Cristo Jesus, antes do início dos tempos e, agora, a graça é revelada no aparecimento de nosso Salvador, Cristo Jesus. Ele destruiu o poder da morte, tornando a vida e a imortalidade brilhantemente claras, por meio das boas novas. 11 Eu fui escolhido como apóstolo e mestre para anunciar essas boas novas. 12 Essa também é a razão pela qual estou sofrendo tudo isso. Mas, eu não estou envergonhado, pois sei em quem eu creio. E estou seguro de que ele pode cuidar do que eu confiei a ele até o Dia do seu retorno. 13 Você deve seguir os bons conselhos que lhe dei com uma atitude de fé e de amor em Cristo Jesus. 14 Guarde a fé que lhe foi confiada pelo Espírito Santo, que vive em nós. 15 Você já sabe que todos os irmãos da Ásia me abandonaram, incluindo Fígelo e Hermógenes. 16 Que o Senhor seja bondoso com a família de Onesíforo, pois ele muitas vezes cuidou de mim e não se sentiu envergonhado por eu estar na cadeia. 17 Quando esteve em Roma, ele se deu ao trabalho de me procurar até me encontrar. 18 Que o Senhor o abençoe no Dia do Julgamento. Timóteo, você sabe muito bem de tudo o que Onesíforo fez por mim em Éfeso.
