1 Merī bahan, merī dulhan, ab maiṅ apne bāġh meṅ dāḳhil ho gayā hūṅ. Maiṅ ne apnā mur apne balsān samet chun liyā, apnā chhattā shahd samet khā liyā, apnī mai apne dūdh samet pī lī hai. Khāo, mere dosto, khāo aur piyo, muhabbat se sarshār ho jāo! 2 Maiṅ so rahī thī, lekin merā dil bedār rahā. Sun! Merā mahbūb dastak de rahā hai,“Ai merī bahan, merī sāthī, mere lie darwāzā khol de! Ai merī kabūtarī, merī kāmil sāthī, merā sar os se tar ho gayā hai, merī zulfeṅ rāt kī shabnam se bhīg gaī haiṅ.” 3 “Maiṅ apnā libās utār chukī hūṅ, ab maiṅ kis tarah use dubārā pahan lūṅ? Maiṅ apne pāṅw dho chukī hūṅ, ab maiṅ unheṅ kis tarah dubārā mailā karūṅ?” 4 Mere mahbūb ne apnā hāth dīwār ke sūrāḳh meṅ se andar ḍāl diyā. Tab merā dil taṛap uṭhā. 5 Maiṅ uṭhī tāki apne mahbūb ke lie darwāzā kholūṅ. Mere hāth mur se, merī ungliyāṅ mur kī ḳhushbū se ṭapak rahī thīṅ jab maiṅ kunḍī kholne āī. 6 Maiṅ ne apne mahbūb ke lie darwāzā khol diyā, lekin wuh muṛ kar chalā gayā thā. Mujhe saḳht sadmā huā. Maiṅ ne use talāsh kiyā lekin na milā. Maiṅ ne use āwāz dī, lekin jawāb na milā. 7 Jo chaukīdār shahr meṅ gasht karte haiṅ un se merā wāstā paṛā, unhoṅ ne merī piṭāī karke mujhe zaḳhmī kar diyā. Fasīl ke chaukīdāroṅ ne merī chādar bhī chhīn lī. 8 Ai Yarūshalam kī beṭiyo, qasam khāo ki agar merā mahbūb milā to use ittalā dogī, maiṅ muhabbat ke māre bīmār ho gaī hūṅ. 9 Tū jo auratoṅ meṅ sab se hasīn hai, hameṅ batā, tere mahbūb kī kyā ḳhāsiyat hai jo dūsroṅ meṅ nahīṅ hai? Terā mahbūb dūsroṅ se kis tarah sabqat rakhtā hai ki tū hameṅ aisī qasam khilānā chāhtī hai? 10 Mere mahbūb kī jild gulābī aur safed hai. Hazāroṅ ke sāth us kā muqābalā karo to us kā ālā kirdār numāyāṅ taur par nazar āegā. 11 Us kā sar ḳhālis sone kā hai, us ke bāl khajūr ke phūldār guchchhoṅ kī mānind aur kawwe kī tarah siyāh haiṅ. 12 Us kī āṅkheṅ nadiyoṅ ke kināre ke kabūtaroṅ kī mānind haiṅ, jo dūdh meṅ nahlāe aur kasrat ke pānī ke pās baiṭhe haiṅ. 13 Us ke gāl balsān kī kyārī kī mānind, us ke hoṅṭ mur se ṭapakte sosan ke phūloṅ jaise haiṅ. 14 Us ke bāzū sone kī salākheṅ haiṅ jin meṅ pukhrāj jaṛe hue haiṅ, us kā jism hāthīdāṅt kā shāhkār hai jis meṅ sang-e-lājaward ke patthar lage haiṅ. 15 Us kī rāneṅ marmar ke satūn haiṅ jo ḳhālis sone ke pāiyoṅ par lage haiṅ. Us kā hulyā Lubnān aur deodār ke daraḳhtoṅ jaisā umdā hai. 16 Us kā muṅh miṭhās hī hai, ġharz wuh har lihāz se pasandīdā hai. Ai Yarūshalam kī beṭiyo, yih hai merā mahbūb, merā dost.
